The Little Bird on the Rail

“The mind, in addition to medicine, has powers to turn the immune systems around” – Jonas Salk
It seems that to help the mind do that, it has been helpful for me to concentrate on the little or big beauties around me. My bed is next to the big window overlooking the ocean. So often just watching for the changing waves, the moving clouds, the way the sun is playing with the ocean leaving shimmering bright light on the little waves, and mostly, the birds. Those big pelicans who are doing their way north right now in big breathtaking groups, or those tiny little ones who stop on the rail of the balcony to sing for me. some of those, sing, others have little twigs in their beaks, on their way to build their nest for the upcoming spring babies. Often, it’s just one beautiful little bird and other times, three or four at a time, all jumping, singing, or just sitting in one place on the rail, turning back and forth.
Another source of joy are the beautiful tulips the kids got me. Such vibrant colors, and special beauty! Looking at them for a while the other day, ignited the desire to paint them. Create! I have been wanting to create and paint for a while, without much success. So, it was truly refreshing to take a brush and get inspired by the tulips.
Of course, people. My kids who come to be with me daily and Bruce’s constant loving care is a source of inspiration to the mind. Your comments, responses, love and prayers help too. Thank you so much for all your amazing support!
With so much love and appreciation,
Irit
